Mission Statement

The Montour Boys Youth Basketball is a volunteer-based non-profit organization offering developmental and competitive opportunities for boys in grades 2 through 6 who reside in the Montour Area School District.

Our mission is to provide the Montour Boys High School Basketball Program with fundamentally sound and game-experienced players.  It is our desire to prepare these student-athletes to contribute to the High School Program immediately in the following areas: academics, athletics, and to lead character-driven lives.

Our mission will be accomplished by seeking to fulfill the following goals:

We will allow 2nd – 6th grade boys to participate in the MBYB In-House league.

We will create an environment where the fundamentals are taught to each student-athlete, teamwork is emphasized ahead of wins and losses, good sportsmanship is modeled and expected, and practices are fun and memorable.

We will seek to develop as many young players as possible to move from 6th grade into middle school and contribute to our middle school program and, eventually our high school program.

We will enforce to all student-athletes that success in the classroom translates to success in our basketball program.

We will encourage our more advanced players to participate in a Montour travel program. For more information on travel teams, please visit our Travel Team tab.
